I wanted to know if the preposition AS is appropriate in this sentence:

I am interested in the vacancy as a receptionist.

If not, could you give me other alternatives, using the word vacancy.

The sentence as it stands means In my capacity as a receptionist, I'm interested in the vacancy. If you're applying for a job, you could say I am interested in the position of receptionist.
