I have to translate a short story for my translation class. Here is the sentence I find a bit hard to translate:
"He lived alone in a voiceless, sanitized shrine-his very one space in the sky". I suggest "Il vivait seul dans ce sanctuaire silencieux et aceptisé: son bout de ciel à lui". My question is the following: do you usually use the adjective "voiceless" with inanimate things or does this association sound as an unusual collocation, because if it does, I should probably translate it by "ce sanctuaire muet et aceptisé".
