a. The book I am reading is well written.
b. The book I am reading is written well.

Are these both fine?
Is there any difference in their meanings?

Does (a) need a hyphen between "well" and "written"?

I personnaly prefer (a), but it seems to me that (b) is OK too. I am not sure and I don't know why I prefer (a)!

Many thanks.
Azz.
I prefer (a). (b) makes sense but doesn't sound as natural as (a). There shouldn't be hyphen.
I agree with Skymouse, who is also correct about the hyphen. You would need a hyphen only if the description is before the noun (it's a well-written book).
