Le contexte: His system was easy to learn but he did not live to see Braille widely adopted.

xhost wrote a question mark after « voir ». I guess that he was simply questioning the usage of the verb. Especially since Louis Braille was blind and therefore couldn't (literally) "see". But of course, it still works. 👁 Wink ;)
