Bonjour,

Quelqu'un saurait-il me dire si "Wizard of Odd" est une référence culturelle (avec un jeu de mot sur Odd/ Oz?) ou une expression courante en anglais US?

Le contexte est celui de quelqu'un qui ne veut pas perdre le contrôle de sa vie et se retrouver sous l'emprise du "Wizard of Odd".

Oui, c'est un jeu de mots (assez bien je trouve) avec Oz, et n'est pas courant. Qqn pourra peut-être faire un jeu de mots équivalent en français ?
"Wizard of Oz" film de Victor Flemming (1939) avec Judy Garland. Je ne sais pas s'il est possible de faire un jeu de mots aussi "snappy" en français.

Incidentally I think that "Wizard" means "sorcier" rather than "Magician" ('Magicien' en français), but it sounded better in french...

The Wizard of Oz was translated into Le Magicien d'Oz... I don't see a play on words - apparently (according to the web), there's a song or album called "Wizard of Odd" and "wizard of odds" is an expression used for gambling... You need to find another name altogether or perhaps something like "Le magicien de l'étrange"... which is not a play on words...

I know the movie of course and half-suspected the pun on "Oz".
Unfortunately, I'm afraid we cannot make a good translation of it in French :-/
