QuestionIssue with devices disconnecting for about five seconds ?

You should upgrade or use an alternative browser.
A new issue has come up with my PC. Earlier today - though it didn't start then - playing World of Tanks, every several minutes, there would be a two note tone - one low one his, like when you plug in a USB device - and my keyboard would not work. Also, my desk mic would go dark. But the USB mouse still worked.

It would last about 5 seconds, then the two notes the other way, one high one low, like unplugging a USB device (or reverse that), and they'd work again.

Now for some hours outside the game it doesn't happen. I don't remember how much it happened outside the game, but nothing else changed.

This is a new PC, Seasonic Electronics Vertex GX-1000 PSU
Samsung 990 8TB SSD under half full, 24TB Hard drive under half full, 32GB 6000 RAM.
Microsoft 4000 keyboard, Razer Deathadder 2 mouse, Soundblaster Katana soundbar, headphones, desk mic
Wired internet Comcast Gigabyte
Acer 34" monitor

When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time. In this instance please pass on the make and model of all USB driven devices hooked up to your system. Did you migrate the OS drive from an older platform, without reinstalling the OS?
@Craig234

Look in Reliabiity Histor/Monitor and Event Viewer.

Either one or both tools may be capturing some error code, warning, or informational event just before or at the time of the tones and failures.

Power down, unplug, open the case.

Clean out dust and debris.

Verify that all cards, connectors, jumpers, RAM, and case connections are fully and firmly in place.

Use a bright flashlight to inspect for signs of damage: bare conductor showing, pinched or kinked wires, melting, browned or blackened areas, corrosion, moisture, cracks, loose or missing screws.swollen components.

Hopefullly being a new PC something has simply become a bit loose with time and use.

Device manager/human interface devices.....expand each item and see what power management is set to.

Do the same with usb controllers.
Failing the above there is much more that can be done:

Windows: Run "dism" and "sfc /scannow" to find and fix Windows apps that are buggy or corrupt.

Check into the details of that failed Windows update.

Reinstall Google Chrome.

What is eso64.exe ? Appears to be Elder Scrolls. If so, verify that is is a legal copy and reinstall.

Is Bethesda Launcher still needed? My understanding is that it was retired a few years ago and no longer supported. Its' games, wallets, etc. should have been transferred to Steam.

If you are using Bethesda Launcher then what is the reason?

If Bethesda Launcher is not needed then uninstall and delete.

I found this link:

Caveat:

Before doing anything be sure to back up all important data at least 2 x to locations away from the host system in question. Be sure to verify that the backup data is recoverable and readable.
dism:

Use:

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

Next run:

sfc /scannow

Look in Task Scheduler for any tasks that are triggered one way or another when Bethesda Launcher and/or Elder Scrolls is launched.

Check the rest of Device Manager - look for the yellow triangles that indicate a problem. Use "Properties" to look for error codes via Device status.
No yellow triangles - that is good.

However, that does not mean that all is necessarily as it should be.

Check the drivers that are currently installed on the system to determine if all are needed and up to date.

A quick way to do so is to run a Powershell cmdlet to get a list. Powershell should already be installed with the basic cmdlets and functions.

Specifically:

Get-WmiObject Win32_PnPSignedDriver| select devicename, driverversion

Run as Admin.

Reference:

https://www.itprotoday.com/powershell/check-installed-driver-versions-using-powershell

For Windows drivers try

driverquery /V

You can easily google for more explanations and examples.

In any case the driver list will be lengthy and/or difficult to read. You may need to expand the viewing window and/or change the output format.

Powershell offers a number to ways to control how the results of a cmdlet are presented via the Out and Format verbs.

Google for the Out and Format verb families.

Format-List and Format-Table likely the most useful.

Reference:

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/p...nds-to-change-output-view?view=powershell-7.5

The end objective simply being to obtain a convenient, readable, and understandable list of the drivers installed on your system.

Once you get the onscreen format to be as you like then those results can be piped to a file or printer.
