  • Alejandro Sanz was born Alejandro SΓ‘nchez Pizarro on Dec. 18, 1968, in Madrid, Spain.
     
  • Sanz's 1997 album MΓ‘s has been certified six-times platinum in the United States. The LP featured the hits "CorazΓ³n PartΓ­o," "Amiga MΓ­a" and "Y, ΒΏSi Fuera Ella?"
     
  • In 2002 at the 44th Annual GRAMMY Awards, Sanz performed his hit "Quisiera Ser" onstage with Destiny's Child, marking his GRAMMY debut.
     
  • Sanz's No Es Lo Mismo won his first career GRAMMY for Best Latin Pop Album at the 46th Annual GRAMMY Awards in 2004. At the 5th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards, the album netted Sanz four Latin GRAMMYs, including his third career win for Album Of The Year.
     
  • Sanz was honored as the 2017 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year for his music achievements and his outstanding philanthropic work with organizations such as Doctors Without Borders and Save The Children.
