How to add, edit, or remove a profile PIN

To restrict access to a specific profile on your account, you can protect it with a Profile Lock PIN. You'll enter this PIN to open the profile or play titles downloaded from it.

Android phone or tablet, iPhone or iPad

1. Open the Netflix app.

2. In the lower right, tap My Netflix 👁 icon-my-netflix.png
   .

3. In the upper right, tap the menu👁 icon-menu.png
   .

4. Tap Manage Profiles 👁 icon-edit-pencil.png
   , then choose the profile you want to edit.

5. Tap Profile Lock 👁 icon_lock_en.png
   .

6. Add, edit, or remove a profile PIN.

   To add a profile PIN, tap Create a Profile Lock.

   1. Verify your identity by entering your Netflix account password.

      Note: If you don't have a password for your account, follow the steps under "Web browser" to change your settings instead.

   2. Enter 4 numbers to create your Profile Lock PIN.

   To edit a profile PIN, tap Edit PIN.

   1. Enter your current PIN.

   2. Enter your new PIN.

   To remove a profile PIN, tap Delete Profile Lock.

   1. Enter your current PIN.

   2. Tap Yes to confirm.

Web browser

1. Using a browser, go to your Account page.

2. Select Profiles, then choose a profile.

3. Select Profile Lock.

4. Add, edit, or remove a profile PIN.

   To add a profile PIN, click Create a Profile Lock.

   1. Enter 4 numbers to create your Profile Lock PIN and click Save PIN.

   To edit a profile PIN, click Edit PIN.

   1. Verify your identity by entering a code sent to your email or mobile phone number, or by entering your Netflix account password.

   2. Enter your new PIN and click Save PIN.

   3. To require a PIN any time a new profile is added to your account, check the box to Require PIN to add new profiles.

      Note: This can only be selected when adding a Profile Lock for the main (first) profile.

   To remove a profile PIN, click Delete Profile Lock.

   1. Verify your identity by entering a code sent to your email or mobile phone number, or by entering your Netflix account password.

Your device may require a refresh to pick up the updated settings. To refresh:

• Switch to another profile, then switch back.

• Or, sign out of your device and sign back in.

How to recover a Profile Lock PIN

If you forget your Profile Lock PIN, tap or select Forgot PIN? or go to netflix.com/account and follow the steps above to edit or remove your PIN.
