This community is for reviewing hipster albums, old and new, everything from Miles Davis to Bob Dylan to Medeski Martin and Wood....
I created it because I thoroughly enjoy reading reviews about music, but I find I have to sift through all posts on the other music review communities to find music that I'm interested to read about. So I thought I'd make a community for hipster music, which includes, but is not limited to, any kind of jazz, folk, blues, bluegrass, hippie, and any hybrid of the aforementioned.
This means nothing you can find on pop, hip-hop, rap, or alternative radio stations, with very few exceptions. This community is set so that the moderator will have to approve any posts that people make, so if you think your review belongs here, then post it and I'll make the call. I'm pretty easy-going, so I'm sure if you think it belongs, then it'll be posted.
Oh yeah, and I'm going to list all reviews as memories so that they'll be easily searchable!
Some rules:
1) Rate all albums on a scale of 0 to 5 stars, just so that everyone is consistant.... 0 stars means that it's unlistenable and worthless. 5 stars means that it's one of the 5 best albums you've ever heard.
Decimal ratings are acceptable (3.5 stars, for instance)....
2) Make your review worth reading. Make sure it is a good length (perhaps 500 words? but this isn't school or something...), show that you care. Don't write, "I love this album SOOO much because it rocks my teeth loose." That's not helpful to anyone. The whole point of this place is to share your love for music with other people who like the same kinda stuff.
3) Include a 250 by 250 image of the album you're reviewing at the bottom of the post. Just because album covers are fun.
4) This community is not for discussion of hipster music. I have created a sister community, Hipster Tunes, to compliment this one solely for musical discussion. If you must discuss here, comment on the relevant review. Do not create new posts to comment on other people's reviews.
5) Not following the rules, even though this is a community for hipsters, will get you banned. Sorry.
