Michael Rooker (lahir 6 April 1955)[1] adalah aktor asal Amerika Serikat. Ia dikenal karena memerankan karakter utama dalam Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer (1986), Merle Dixon dalam serial AMC, The Walking Dead (2010–2013) dan sebagai Yondu Udonta dalam Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), diikuti oleh sekuelnya Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) dan Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023). Kehidupan pribadi
[sunting | sunting sumber]Rooker lahir di Jasper, Alabama. Dia memiliki sembilan saudara laki-laki dan perempuan. Orang tuanya bercerai ketika dia berusia 13 tahun, dan dia pindah bersama ibu dan saudara-saudaranya ke Chicago, Illinois, di mana dia bersekolah di SMA Wells Community Academy dan belajar di Goodman School of Drama di Universitas DePaul University.[2][3][4]
Rooker saat ini tinggal di California dan menikah dengan Margot Rooker. Mereka menikah pada 22 Juni 1979, dan memiliki dua putri. Dia berlatih karate gaya Kyokushin.[1][5]
