The report also featured a cup and saucer that was alleged to be the same one in which Wing Commander Varthaman was served tea. On social media, people mocked the report.
Varthaman was captured by the Pakistani Army on February 27 after his MiG-21 Bison jet was shot down in a dogfight with Pakistani jets during aerial combat.
