AHMEDABAD: The city police on Friday recorded statements of officials of a Gujarati daily in connection with a complaint of assault on a telecom company official by the newspaper owner’s son. Investigating Officer inspector M R Sharma said,“We recorded statements of Sandesh Press officials today. They have narrated the incident to us… We will be recording more statements.” Meanwhile,another ruckus was created at the office of Detection of Crime Branch today when the newspaper owner’s son allegedly had a heated exchange with senior DCB officers.
Two die of food poisoning in Bhuj
RAJKOT: Two persons died and six others were taken ill after consuming buttermilk at Khari village in Bhuj taluka of Kutch district on Friday. Preliminary police investigation revealed that the buttermilk was prepared in a container that was earlier used for storing pesticide. Bhuj taluka police said the incident occurred at the residence of one Gagal family during a dinner party. After dinner,around 10 people complained of uneasiness and were shifted to a private hospital. “Two of them died while six others were affected badly. They have been shifted to G K General Hospital,” said a police officer.
AMC plans marathon,cyclothon in January
AHMEDABAD: The city municipal corporation will organise a Sabarmati Marathon on January 6 and cyclothon on January 13 next year to increase public awareness about health and environment. The events have been organised in coordination with National Highways Authority of India,Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority,AMC and city traffic police.
