Four people, including two brothers, were killed Tuesday morning when a truck skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district.
According to the police, all four occupants of the truck, which was hit by a boulder rolling down from a mountain, died on the spot. The deceased included truck driver Afzal Garoo and his brother Altaf Garoo, both residents of Redwani, and Irfan Ahmed and Showkat Ahmed from Anantnag, they added.
Meanwhile, the movement of vehicular traffic on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was disrupted after landslides in the Banihal area. The Traffic Police advised people not to travel on the NH-44 without confirmation from Traffic Control Units.
