Armed with a gold medal in Bachelor of Fine Arts from Banaras Hindu University,Avneesh Kumar of Lucknow has gone places—religious ones this time—from Varanasi to Pushkar and from Haridwar to Delhi and is exhibiting his photographs in a solo exhibition,The Light Comes Through,in New Delhi.

“My inspiration was light and its source and the way we use it in worship,lighting lamps,candles,etc.,” says the lensman,who has in his bag,besides awards for camera art,such as Kuwar Shukdeo Singh Memorial Photography Award 2005,laurels like an award in painting on the 125th birth anniversary of Munshi Premchand by State Lalit Kala Akademi,Lucknow.

His photographs on the theme of light in holy places will be on display at the Rafaael’s Art Gallery,New Delhi,from August 19 to September 3.
