HOURS after Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray offered five guarantees to voters, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, while launching the Mahayuti’s poll campaign in Kolhapur, on Tuesday announced as many as 10 guarantees, including increase in the aid under the Ladki Bahin Yojana to Rs 2,100 and induction of 25,000 women police personnel.
Speaking at a rally of the Mahayuti in Kolhapur, Shinde said that after the alliance returns to power it will increase the monthly assistance to women under the Ladki Bahin Yojana to Rs 2,100 from Rs 1,500. “We also plan to recruit 25,000 women in the police force,” he said. Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar were also present at the function.
Shinde also promised farm loan waiver and an expanded Shetkari Samman Yojana, raising the annual financial assistance to farmers from Rs 12,000 to Rs 15,000. “Farmers will also get a 20 per cent subsidy on the Minimum Support Price,” he added.
The financial aid to senior citizens will be increased from Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,100, he said.
“The prices of essential commodities will be kept stable. Our next promise is to generate 25 lakh jobs. The Opposition cites unemployment but our state is the first in the country to give financial assistance to 10 lakh students who are doing internship,” he said.
Other key promises unveiled by the CM were better roads in rural areas, monthly honorarium and health cover to Anganwadi and ASHA workers, 30 percent reduction in power bills and emphasis on solar energy.
