Satish Poonia, who has been replaced by C P Joshi as BJP’s Rajasthan unit president, seems to be having a hectic schedule. Toward the end of May, Poonia was in Australia, where he interacted with NRIs and met lawmakers from that country to talk about PM Narendra Modi’s achievements and good governance report card. This week, he will be in Tajikistan to attend the convocation ceremony at Avicenna Tajik State Medical University, in the country’s capital, Dushanbe. He will follow it up with a “discussion and meeting with NRIs”, Poonia tweeted. While his travel schedule has left many party leaders in Delhi amused, since BJP’s preparations for Rajasthan Assembly polls is under way, leaders close to Poonia argue that he has always been present in his constituency, and the state, whenever the party wanted him to.
