Amid reports of DK Shivakumar succeeding Siddaramaiah as Chief Minister of Karnataka, the Opposition BJP targeted the Deputy CM, overseeing Bengaluru’s urban development portfolio, and the ruling party for “neglecting basic infrastructure” in the state capital."Due to the great achievement of @DKShivakumar, the pride and honor of the international city Bengaluru has melted away in just half an hour of rain. As a result of the Congress government neglecting basic infrastructure, the Silicon City has turned into a lake. The people of Bengaluru are left floundering," BJP Karnataka wrote on X."Nobody wants Bengaluru's current situation. The city once admired by the world is groaning under @INCKarnataka's rule. Even the basic infrastructure systems are collapsing. There are no proper roads, the existing ones are full of potholes, ongoing construction work is dragging on, piles of garbage stacked along the streets—all of this is tarnishing the Bengaluru brand," the party wrote in a follow-up post."The state government is engrossed only in CM changes, cabinet formations, and Delhi parades. The Congress government has no concern whatsoever for the people of the state. Congress's misrule has robbed people of their peace. Instead of forming a new government, it would be better to dissolve the government altogether," it added.
