PUNE, Aug 27: Hosts Bishop’s High School continued their fine showing in the XII Maharashtra Anglo-Indian Schools football tournament as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Cathedral Bombay to zoom to the top of Group A with seven points.
Playing on their home ground Jeejeebhouy ground, Bishop’s went ahead by their dependable striker Aditya Kelshikar in the third minute only to be neutralised by Hassan mid-way into the second-half. Bishop’ thus with two wins and a draw have cemented their berth in the last-four.
Among the other results, Hutching’s Pune crashed to their third defeat when they went down 1-4 to Bombay Scottish — who had the distinction of scoring all five goals. A self-goal in the 11th minute put the winners trailing, before Jinay Doshi 2 goals Shrinivas Gangal and Siddharth Dere gave their side a deserving win.
