NEW DELHI, October 9: Bihar Military Academy Patna defeated Modern School BK 4-1 in the boy’s section of the Lala Raghubir Singh inter-school hockey tournament at Shvaji Stadium here today.

In a one-sided match, the Patna boys simply outplayed their rivals after being 1-1 at the break. On resumption, however, the Modern boys were not able to stop BMA.

For the winners Ladcin Khan, D.P. Narang, Pawerus and Manoj Kumar scored while Abhishek Swamy scored for the Modern.

In other matches, SS Mota Singh School swamped Modern School V.Vihar 7-0 and Father Agnel School downed Government School Bhambhewa 4-0.

For SS Mota Singh School, Jaspreet Singh Abot, Amrinder Singh and Jaspreet Singh scored a brace each while Supreet Singh scored the other goal. For Father Agnel, Joseph D’Souza struck twice while Wilson Dung Dung and Gunlal Singh scored a goal each.

In the girls section, Arya High School from Sonepat beat St Mary School Gumla 1-0 with the all-important goal coming from Anita. In the second match, Govt. High School Patna defeated Modern Schol V.Vihar 6-0. For the winners, Smita 2, Bindu, Sweta, Ritiza, Poonam scored.

Nehru Hockey: Rani Parvati Devi High School Sawantwadi defeated Hockey High School Durg 4-3 in a league match in the Nehru Girls Hockey tournament with Arti Bajrang scoring a hat-trick. Leena Rujay scored the other goal. For Durg school, Namita Nawghare 2 and Saba Anjum scored. In the other match, Govt. School Chandigarh beat Rosary High School Vadodara 6-0. Jyoti Gupta 4, including a hat-trick, and Monika and Bimla scored for winners.
