NEW DELHI, Sept 9: DAV Public School, Pitampura, overcame St Joseph’s High School 2-1 after a gruelling battle in the Subroto Mukherjee Cup football tournament.

DAV School took lead through Khokan in the 45th minute. Five minutes later, Mukesh added another to their tally. St Joseph’s reduced the margin in the 56th minute through Ashif. In other matches, Govt High School, Dimapur Nagaland defeated MCC High School, Calicut Kerala 5-0. Mengu 15th, 17th, 55th, Vikuzu 37th and Imti 45th were the scorers.

Khamasom Govt High School, Ukral Manipur defeated Saini Sr Sec School, Rewari Haryana 5-0. Zamik 26th,59th, Wungshunggam 3rd, Dinesh Kumar 19th and Basanta Kumar 15th scored.

Six teams that have qualified for quarter-finals are Meghalaya, Car Nicobar, Assam, West Bengal, Manipur and Sukanta Nagar SAI.
