Cop stabbed
A Delhi Police constable was stabbed by his neighbour in the Nandnagri area of north-east Delhi last night. The accused was later caught by residents of the area who beat him up. Both the injured constable and the accused are in Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital and their condition is reported to be stable.

Constable Virender, 30, was on his way home on a scooter around 9.30 p.m. when he stopped at a shop near his house to buy a cigarette. He met his neighbour Sanjay, 21, there. Sanjay reportedly mocked constable Virender for not knowing how to drive a scooter. A heated argument ensued between the two following which Sanjay took Virender to a corner and stabbed him. Bystanders gheraoed Sanjay and beat him up. The police intervened and rescued the accused. Virender was reportedly stabbed four times on the chest. He was working with the Delhi Armed Police force. The Nandnagri police have registered a case of attempt to murder against the accused.

Youth jumps to death
Twenty-two-year-old Naresh alias Tingoo allegedly jumped to death from the third floor of a Bara Hindu Rao Hospital flat on Wednesday night. He had been locked up in one of the rooms of the house by his associate, Jhug Lal, who had gone to fetch the police following an altercation. By the time the police reached the spot, Tingoo had reportedly jumped to death. The police believe that he had tried to flee the spot but could not survive the fall.

Man shot at
One man was shot at in Gokulpuri area on Friday evening. Nadim Ahmed 25 was rushed to the G.T.B. Hospital where his condition is reportedly stable. One bullet was recovered from his body. Ahmed was a resident of Shri Ram Colony had gone to Khajuri to make calls from a PCO. The incident occured when he was coming back. The accused is reportedly absconding. The Gokulpuri police have registered a case of attempt to murder.

Woman falls into well, dies
A 23-year-old woman fell into a well in Mehrauli on Friday evening. Anju accidentally fell into Roopan well in the Doodhwali gali in Mehrauli at 6 p.m. and was declared dead when she was taken to the Safdarjung Hospital.
