RURAL PATIENTS: President A P J Abdul Kalam on Friday asked doctors to treat at least 20 rural patients a year at minimum rates by going to the rural areas. Addressing the convocation ceremony of the B D Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences in Rohtak, Kalam said doctors should give their time to those patients who cannot afford medicare.

REVAMP PHCs: “Primary health centres and other centres must be revamped and improved in Haryana and other parts of the country,” Kalam said. He underlined the importance of medical research and said India must develop its indigenous medicines and equipments to cure deadly diseases like HIV/AIDS.
