LONDON, MAY 29: West Indies team doctor Rudi Webster has confirmed that surgery on coach Malcolm Marshall last weekend was to remove a colonic tumour. Marshall now faces a period of convalescence and then chemotherapy.

Dr Rudi V Webster issued a statement this afternoon outlining Marshall’s problems: quot;He had seen a number of medical specialists in South Africa, the UK and Barbados who failed to make a definitive diognosis. quot;During the match between West Indies and Warwickshire at Edgbaston on 10 May he had abdominal pain and I felt that he needed an urgent medical opinion.quot;
