Why I took up polo

I just like the game and thought it was very challenging. It’s a team work between man and animal and its something you need to experience to understand.

My favourite player

Argentinian Marcos Heguy, probably the best in the world with a plus 10 handicap, and you can’t get a higher handicap than that. He is poetry in motion.

What I like most about polo

It’s all about coordination — the people, the horses, the ride, the speed..the complete package.

One way it has changed my life

It’s brought me closer to nature and my family. There are very few sports which you can play with your family getting involved. Moreover, I’ve learnt to respect nature, flora and fauna.

One way I’d like to change the game

More grounds, and more youngsters taking to the game. And, for once, playing the game just for pleasure and not for money and not to win or lose; just for the kick of it.
