The line-up sounded more like an Indian hockey team—but it was cricket they were playing here against Australian Capital Territory XI at the Manuka Oval. India had five Singhs playing—Yuvraj, RP, Harbhajan, VRV and Pankaj. The first three are well known here, Harbhajan particularly creating a commotion in the stands and among the Australian media. Even VRV and Pankaj were targets of autograph hunters. Pankaj was referred to as the “taller Singh”. And VRV was described as an enthusiast here as “India’s Shaun Tait.” Tomorrow, with four of them in action with the ball, hopefully India will be Singh-ing to glory.
