Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav slammed the BJP saying the saffron party engineered splits in many parties; poached SP MLAs, MLCs in UP before. The Lok Sabha MP’s remark came after Uttar Pradesh Minister and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party president Om Prakash Rajbhar claimed that a major split is brewing within the SP. Rubbishing Rajbhar’s claims, Yadav assured that SP remains strong in terms of unity.

Further Yadav told media, “For the BJP, ‘dharm’ means ‘dhan’, and it is said that just like they acted dishonestly in the elections in Kundarki and in other elections where malpractice took place, the CCTV footage from those places was never found. The CCTV footage is missing, absent, lost. Because if the CCTV footage comes out, the truth behind ‘CC’ will be exposed. That is why the CCTV footage is missing. You already understand what ‘CC’ means … ‘Chadhawa Chori’, ‘Chanda Chori’.”

The former UP Chief Minister had first raised the issue of the alleged misappropriation of donations at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. A three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the alleged misappropriation of donations at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya questioned several people associated with the temple management, including those involved in the handling and accounting of donations and valuables offered by devotees.

The Kannauj MP said “From time to time, we have kept warning the government. We have repeatedly informed them about how land scams were taking place there (in Ayodhya), how the public was being troubled, how people’s lands were snatched away, and how the people suffered. You may remember that many people came to meet us when their shops were demolished, taken away, and bulldozed. Many families came, but nobody helped them. You may also remember when the airport was being built… we said that we were not against the airport and not against development. But at the very least, the people should have received market value for their land. From day one, we kept alerting the government and telling them about these issues. But only now has the truth started coming out. And the kind of revelations that are emerging now…you can see for yourself.”
