India vs Netherlands (IND-W vs NED-W) Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Live Cricket Score Updates: Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma added 115 for the opening wicket before the former was dismissed on 55 by Heather Siegers. Jemimah Rodrigues held her fort well to continue her partnership with Mandhana, taking India W to 137/1 in 14 overs after Babette de Leede won the toss and elected to bowl first in Leeds.
After thrashing archrivals Pakistan by 64 runs to open the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 campaign, Harmanpreet Kaur-led Indian women’s team will look to continue on the winning momentum when they face the Netherlands in the Group A game at Headingley in Leeds on Wednesday.
In Birmingham, it was a Smriti Mandhana show as she held India’s innings together after the Women in Blue lost both Shafali and Jemimah early. Her composed a 44-ball 68 helped India post 170/6. In bowling, Deepti Sharma’s five-wicket haul ensured Pakistan were bundled out for 106, giving India a big win to start on high. The Dutch began their campaign with a loss to Bangladesh by six wickets in Birmingham.
Frederique Overdijk is in the attack now. A two to start the over, followed by four singles. What appeared to be a decent over turned well in the favour of Indians after Jemi Rodrigues found the gap at leg side with her pull through mid-wicket.

Silver Siegers comes back to the attack. A single to start the over for Mandhana. She gets to her second consecutive fifty of this World Cup. A wonder run continues for the elegant batter.

Heather Siegers comes back to the attack. FOUR! What a good-looking shot by Mandhana to start the over. Length delivery on off, Mandhana shimmies down the track and goes aerial over mid-on for a one-bounce boundary. SIX! Even better this time. Inside out from the elegant left-hander, and she clears the ropes on this occasion. OUT! A wicket against the run of play as Shafali Verma falls quickly after scoring a fifty. Verma goes for another big shot but fails to clear the fence this time, finding Iris Zwilling at long-on. Jemimah Rodrigues is the new batter, joining Mandhana at No. 3. FOUR! A cracker of a shot to get off the mark. Full delivery outside off, Rodrigues plans her foot forward and creams the drive through extra cover. 17 runs but a wicket from this over.

Myrthe van den Raad returns. Shafali Verma brings up her attacking half-century in 34 deliveries with a single off the first delivery. She ends the over with a cover drive for a FOUR. 8 off the over as India Women is past 100 in the 11th over.

Caroline de Lange continues. FOUR! Verma continues to attack and reaps the reward. Full on middle, Verma swats this over mid-wicket. FOUR AGAIN! Tough to stop an on-song Verma. Full toss from de Lange, Verma punishes it by sweeping it to backward square leg. Three singles off the last three deliveries as 11 comes from this over.

Isabel van der Woning returns to the attack. FOUR! Quick delivery outside off, too much width on offer from Woning, Verma throws her bat hard, slapping it on offside over sweeper cover for a boundary. FOUR! NO BALL AS WELL! A full-toss with some nip in the air, too high and it's a no ball, Verma plays it smart, just guides it fine at third man with an open face of the bat. A wide to follow, free hit remains with Verma. Woning recovers well, first to avoid being hit on a free-hit delivery as she gives only a single off the last four deliveries.

Another spinner into the attack, Caroline de Lange, the right-arm leg-spinner, replaces Myrthe van den Raad. de Lange will remind you of Paul Adams or Shivil Kaushik from IPL with her action. Four singles and a wide fetch India W five from this over.

Silver Siegers into the attack now. Siegers bowls a full-toss, but all Verma manages is a single on this occasion. FOUR! Poor line from Siegers, drags it down the leg, and Mandhana brings out the sweep to place it at short fine leg. Three more singles make it an eight-run over.

Only a single over for Isabel van der Woning as Myrthe van den Raad replaces her in the attack. Shafali brings up 50 for India in 5.1 overs with a two off the opening delivery. Verma gets a single off the pads before Raad bowls three back-to-back WIDES, all down the leg. She bowls one more, this time outside the off, while looking to follow Mandhana, who shimmies down the track on this occasion. Oh my goodness, another wide. Would you believe this? Another wide! SIX WIDES In this over! A couple of singles finally ended this over that saw Raad bowl 12 deliveries.

Third straight over for Iris Zwilling. Mandhana starts from where Shafali left in the last over as she begins this over by slamming a FOUR! She walks down the track, swings across the full ball and hits it over extra cover for this boundary. FOUR! Short this time, away from the left-hander, a cracking frontfoot punch from Mandhana results in another boundary. She then manages a two before playing out a couple of dots.

Isabel van der Woning replaces Heather Siegers after the latter's expensive start. What Woning lacks is pace and Shafali Verma makes the most of it in this over. She starts the over with a FOUR!, a top edge induced off a pull against a short delivery. FOUR! She then uses the width on offer to slam it over square leg. Under-pressure FOUR! Woning bowls too full and Shafali goes downtown, hitting over mid-off this time for her third boundary. 12 from the over.

Heather Siegers into the attack. Manadhana puts Shafali on strike after playing a dot. FOUR! Too slow, way too short from Siegers and Shafali pounces on it, slapping the cut through extra cover on the back foot. FOUR! Mandhana gets in the act now. Slower delivery, full and in the middle, Mandhana just gently nudges for a drive through mid-off. The ball races to long-off for a second boundary. FOUR AGAIN! Third boundary of the over as Mandhana places her drives to perfection at extra cover. Expensive over as 14 comes from this one.

Zwilling starts over the wicket with a slip in place. A dot to start the innings before Zwilling drags one down the leg for a wide. Mandhana manages to get two on this occasion after pulling the short ball, pace off, on deep square leg. Another wide down the leg from Zwilling. Mandhana manages a quick single off the fourth delivery to give the strike to Shafali. FOUR! A boundary will open Shafali's account in this game. Back of the length game, in the middle, Verma stays on the front foot, opens the face of the bat to guide it on third man for a boundary. Nine from the opening over.

From Tata Steel desk to World Cup: Siegers set for Netherlands vs India clash
Not many employees at Tata Steel’s Velsen-Noord office had realised that their new colleague, who joined as a trainee in August 2025, was a former captain of the Netherlands women’s cricket team. Cricket remains a niche sport in the Netherlands. Heather Siegers’ achievement, hence, went unsurprisingly unnoticed.
“My colleagues weren’t aware of my background and any form of cricket, really. Cricket isn’t very big back home and only a few of my colleagues know much about cricket,” Siegers told The Indian Express. (READ MORE)
