GOAT movie review: The animals are nasty and mean to their rival teams and often physically aggressive. And the creatures are always, always on their phones and particularly social media, following reels or making them.

Crime 101 movie review: A faster wrapping up of the ending, a simpler plot around the moving of diamonds, lesser pretentiousness about the class divide, and a world that is more grey than the film’s preferred black and white – and Crime 101 would be home and dry.

The History of Sound movie review: This film, adapted by Ben Shattuck from a pair of his own short stories, gives Paul Mescal and Josh O’Connor nothing to do but look lovingly at each other.

Marty Supreme movie review: Timothée Chalamet sheds the evocative vulnerability suggested by his slender frame and pretty looks to give us a youth whose ambition and talent will burn whatever and whoever stands in his way

Greenland 2 Migration movie review: Watch the film if you want to see Gerard Butler do his braveheart thing again, and a teary Morena Baccarin play the second fiddle, and son Nathan tag along, being alternatively hugged and asked 'Are you okay?'

The Chronology of Water movie review: The Chronology of Water is not an easy book to adapt. Kristen Stewart deserves credit for making the attempt.

28 Years Later The Bone Temple movie review: As long as Ralph Fiennes occupies the screen as Dr Ian Kelson, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is at its most powerful.

Song Sung Blue movie review: It is Kate Hudson who is an absolute revelation, in one of her best performances since Almost Famous, which she did early on in her career.

The Housemaid movie review: Sydney Sweeney, her glamour tamped down for the most part, and Amanda Seyfried are what keep the wheels oiled – with Elizabeth Perkins as Andrew’s snobbish mother making a threesome.

Avatar Fire and Ash movie review: The one person who single handedly shakes that equanimity, enlivening Fire and Ash, is a villain with sex, spice and all things vice.

Jay Kelly movie review: While Noah Baumbach is showing us the world behind the silver screen, the chaos and the confusion of it, and particularly what fame can make one oblivious to, Jay Kelly is enjoyable.

Dhurandhar movie review: Despite the many, many characters Dhurandhar introduces to give us a sense of Lyari’s power, crime, political and family dynamics, the plot is fairly comprehensible.

Eternity movie review: You can see the ending coming a long way off, even if the film wants you to ponder – briefly – about “love that has not been tested by loss” versus “youthful love”.
