Being home sick and having access to my brother's 10,000+ songs is a dangerous combination. These are basically songs I've been digging on lately that were conveniently on Rod's computer so I could make a CD to make being sick not suck as much. I can tell you why I'm digging on some of these also.
Fatlip - What's up Fatlip? (I like this song mostly because of the part where he says "who'm'I kiiiiidin', who'm'I foooolin' when they be like, what's up fatlip? and I say coooooolin'")
Beck - Deadweight
Belle & Sebastian - Slow Grafitti
The Breeders - No Aloha
Nirvana - Sliver (I think this song is kind of heartbreaking. But it ROCKS. And in a completely non-emo way!).
David Bowie - Starman (I like how he says "boooo-gay" instead of "boogie". Plus, good guitar--makes me think of the Life Aquatic).
Death Cab For Cutie - Lowell, MA (This song is so smooth. Smooth the way a tall glass of ice cold chocolate milk is smooth, but not Nestle Quik--like whole milk with delicious chocolate sauce in it).
Velvet Underground - Sunday Morning (I am partial to this song. Remember when Beck covered it at the Lincoln Theater? That was pretty cool).
Dizzee Rascal - Dream (This song is insane).
The Go!Team - Ladyflash
Devo - Gut Feeling
Jay-Z - 99 Problems
Snoop Dogg - Drop it Like It's Hot (I want to say the beat in this song is what's so good, but is it even really a beat? Whatever it is, it is sick and I love it).
Mates of State - Ha-Ha
Nirvana - About a Girl
Pavement - Elevate me Later (This is the number one thing I identitfy with Summer 2003).
The Pixies - Dig For Fire
Probot - Shake Your Blood
Radiohead - Killer Cars (studio version, not the live version which I actually prefer).
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Y Control (It's Friday afternoon and I want to dance, dance, DANCE!!! This song makes me want to dance the way I like to dance).
The Eels - Lucky Day in Hell (One of my favorite Eels songs from my favorite Eels album. The sound they achieve in this song is so specific to a certain feeling, but it's relatively indescribable).
And that's that. I'll make copies for anyone who wants one, and even some of you that don't.

I think Belle and Sebastian, The Smiths, The Cure, and roundhouse punch from Morrissey all in a row could sonically murder Dashboard Confessional. Murder him into a paste. We should definitely look into this.
Tomorrow is oddly joyous.
Thanks again.

The Violent Femmes are neither terribly violent, nor are they femmes. I'm fairly certain Kim Deal has an opinion on this but I don't know what it is for the life of me.
