This site was lovingly pieced together by Michael V. Colianna and improved by the members of the Discord. In most cases, we have tried to keep the names of parts intact per appearance on the original site, whether those were errors by Ryan or otherwise. In some cases we had to guess, though. Feel free to send Michael a message on GitHub or BlueSky if you have any of the missing images, or if you have better names for some of the series/parts. You can also join the Discord and let us know.

Since the original domain expired, this is a fan archive of the content from kiwisbybeat.com, based off the hard work of Evan Summers . It also includes some content from another mirror by KiwiEnquirer .

If nothing else, please read minus! and/or The Mildly Inconvenient Journey of Pelen Purul. All of Ryan’s comics are great but those two are truly phenomenal. If you've been on the web for a while you've probably seen the final panel of this comic.

This page has direct links to the comics, featuring some cards I put together for them, and there is a menu to access them from anywhere, too. Each comic has a button to begin reading. If it's a series, then there are multiple buttons with the names of each portion. When you're going through the pages, the previous & next buttons are at the bottom, along with a full list of all the pages. The final comic on a page is clickable/tappable, taking you to the next page. If Ryan had any commentary on the old site for a particular page of comics, it will appear below the comic, prefaced by "Ryan's commentary" and you can expand to read. (We did this because some of his notes are quite long.) Note that some links are not clickable because they no longer exist. Some are links to the web archive.

A huge goal for this site is to make the comics more accessible. A scant few have descriptions right now. It's a long process to add image captions, but worthwhile so everyone can enjoy Ryan's comics. If you're able to contribute some, please reach out! Any help is appreciated!

• 2026 Jan 28: Fixed a spelling error, thanks to beauty.
• 2025 Sep 29: Thanks to StrangeCharm, Not A Menhera, Descriptivist, and Freswinn there are some new features:
  • Any comic with a transcription now has that text inside of a <figcaption> element, which is only visible to screen readers.
  • When you’re viewing a comic page, the last image is clickable/tappable and it takes you to the next page.
  • We pulled a bunch of Ryan’s commentary for minus!. When you’re viewing it, you may see a “Ryan’s commentary” you can expand to view his notes from the original site.
• 2024 Dec 25: We’ve removed our Facebook & Twitter accounts and created one on Bluesky for now. But the main way to get in touch is via Discord.
• 2024 May 31: The site has been migrated from Gatsby to Astro, then updated to correct some faulty information. Plus a few missing panels for Modern Fried Snake and Socks were added, thanks to essdee.
• 2022 Nov 12: We have a Discord server now, thanks to essdee (of the Ribald Youth videos update). Added the note about that to the top of the page.
• 2022 Nov 1: I created Facebook & Twitter profiles! Links are in the footer. I also added captions to the short comics in Verse & Stuff.
• 2022 Oct 27: As a (late) birthday present to myself, I redid the site! I moved away from a PHP-based system. I’m now using Gatsby to statically generate the site. It was a much longer labor of love than I thought it would be but I’m happy with the results.
• 2021 Nov 23: Added a “Ribald Youth Videos” page to the “Other Comics” section. Many thanks to essdee for those, which were on an “extra stuff” page from the original Ribald Youth site.
• 2020 Apr 21: Added an image to Socks that was sent to me by bluffy!
• 2020 Jan 28: Fixed some missing images in part 10 of “Great!” (They somehow didn’t make it into the HTML even though they were physically present.) Thanks to the heads-up from dijtro-echo!
• 2019 Aug 26: Added a few extra images to Socks that were sent to me. Pulled a couple of other images in from Evan Summers’s repository.
• 2019 Apr 13: Added a section for some incomplete/hidden comics that were sent to me.
• 2019 Mar 11: I’ve gotten some submissions that fill in a couple of small blanks. However, someone anonymously sent me what looks like the complete “Regarding the acquisition of hats!” children’s book that Ryan made! I’ll get that and the other small updates in as soon as possible!
• 2019 Mar 4: The primary goal of this site is to have a reliable hub for the various comics Ryan made until such time as he (hopefully) reappears.
