I is a college graduate!!!

I graduated last night =)

It hadn't really sunk in or hit me, because I'm going back in the fall. But then when I was driving home today, I suddenly realized..."wait a minute! I'm not a music major anymore" THAT is such a weird and scary thought!! But at the same time it's really exciting...from now on, when people ask me what's your major I don't have to give them the long explanation, I can simply say, Therapeutic Recreation =)

Time to go and spend some time with the familia...CAMP starts 1 month from today...YIPPEEEE!!

Yikes, so I haven't updated in a month!!

Basically, I can't believe summer is OVER. How depressing!

Out of this World camp, my second camp was a blast!! It's such a change of pace from my first camp. It's alot of physical work though, that's for sure! Other than that it's a TON of fun and the kids are great. I can't wait to go through my pictures when I get back to school so I can put together my camp scrapbook for this year. I actually got to go on the kayaking trip this year...and all I can say is it was pretty much the most amazing fieldtrip ever!! Yeah, we went on the HOTTEST day of the summer and alot of us staff were passing out...but it was a BLAST!! And Dana came to volunteer which made it even better =)

Right after the kayaking trip I celebrated my 21st!!! I still can't believe I'm 21. Ordering a drink at dinner was so weird, but at the same time so incredibly awesome!! I didn't really do much that night because I was still so wiped from camp and kayaking. Then on Saturday, a bunch of my summer loves (camp coworkers) came over for my "party" which was supposed to be a pool party but thanks to the rain all we did was sit around and talk about camp...but it was still a blast and I'm so lucky to have such amazing coworkers and friends. That night we went out to dinner at Chili's where Emily bought me a blowjob shot. It would have been awesome if the shot had actually come out of the shot glass...which it didn't since Em asked em to put extra whipped cream on! Basically...SUPER fun night!!

Then on Thursday I left for Vegas with my mom and my grandparents. We were there till Sunday night and I had one of the best weekends in a really long time...it was great!! The hotels are beautiful, the food is delicious, gambling addicting...and fun!, and the drinking...well...fun!! I won $600 on the second day...but of course I gambled that all away! I think I have developed a new addiction for Las Vegas. Not quite as strong as my Disney World obsession...but close. I want to go back and see more of the hotels and just have fun again!!

But no, alas the end of the summer has arrived and I am heading back down to school tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to the apartment and living with Nicole and seeing all of my friends who I have missed SOOO much...but I'm not quite ready to start class. I'm not ready to face the fact that I only have 1 year of classes left before my internship and the "real world". It's so scary how fast everything is happening and in reality how, pretty soon I'm gonna be an "adult" with a "real" job...crazy!!

Oh well, I guess I should go get some sleep so I'm well rested for the drive tomorrow.

ISU, here I come!

I can't believe how fast this summer is going! It's crazy to think that a month from now I'll be just days away from movin down to school for the year.

Well, my first camp is over now and that is sad. I love all of those kids so much. And the staff are incredible! I can't imagine not seeing my Summer Loves every day. However, I'm very excited for my next camp to start tomorrow! We got to see a bunch of them at orientation on Thursday night and it looks like we're gonna have a great time these next 4 weeks.

Nicole and I went out shopping most of the day yesterday. We got started nice and early and hit up IKEA, Bed bath and beyond, target, and meijer. But I think we got everything that we need which is a really great feeling! Next weekend we are going down to the apartment to get everything that we bought set up and put together and basically just getting ready for us to move in soon!!

Again, I can't believe how fast this summer is going...I mean, all of my weekends between now and then have something going on!! This weekend is almost done and today I have a pool party with my Summer Loves, next weekend I'm at ISU, the last weekend in July I might be going to Naperville with Nicole and then a BBQ with some friends, then the following weekend is my BIRTHDAY WEEKEND!!! Which means I'll be going out to dinner and then who knows what else on Friday night, I'm hoping to have people over on Saturday, and then I have a family picnic on Sunday, the following weekend I'm in VEGAS celebrating my bday in STYLE!!, and then finally I'm at school...it's absolute craziness!!!

I miss all of my friends so much!! I hate that we all have different schedules that never line up. Thankfully we'll be back at school and only a short walk away from each other very soon!

Only 19 days until my birthday!!!

So...an update...

Summer has been...well, Summer so far. It started with me relaxing, cleaning my room, visiting my kids at PHS, and getting the rest of my wisdom teeth out.

Then Camp started a few weeks ago and I couldn't be happier!! I love all of the amazing staff that I work with and our kids are great!! It was so good to see all of the campers from last year, and fun to meet all of the new kiddies. My first week and a half was a lil difficult, as I was with a one on one who loved to run and was kind of high maintenance. As crazy and hard as it was, she was a sweetie and I miss being with her every day. However, this week she has been my buddy for a lil while each day. Sometimes she sits in my lap during games or our singing time, and the other day I even got to swim with her which was fun because she actually stayed in the pool!

My new campers are a blast as well, just a completely different perspective. They are both pretty self capable and mainly just need assistance during transitions. But it's been nice to actually participate in camp!

I love my job. I love it so much. I can't imagine my summer without camp!!! I can't believe that my first camp is almost over, but I'm excited to start my second camp, that one is sure to be a fun one as well =)

The one thing about summer that sucks is between my crazy schedule and my friends schedules, I don't get to hang out with people very much. Not to mention, my friends around here are pretty scarce since I don't have many friends left from high school. I finally got to see Dana last night after not seeing her for a month. That month was brutal, but last night was so much fun! I even got to see my crazy monkey!! What a surprise that was! He moved to Hawaii to teach and that's where I thought he was for the summer, and then he walked into the restaurant we were at. That was completely unexpected but pretty much awesome!

I miss everyone from ISU so much!! I went down to school last weekend with the sis and we stayed at my apartment. We had a blast!! I got to unpack my room and we watched a bunch of movies and went around town, overall an awesome weekend to just get away and relax =)

OH!! My birthday is comin up...only 34 days! I can't wait! And I'm super excited for Vegas!! That's gonna be such a fun way to end the summer!

I think that's about all that's goin on right now. Summer is FLYING by and I can't believe it. Senior year will be here before I know it and then it's all downhill from there.

Well, I'm home. Have been since Friday, and it's just weird. I can't believe it's summer already and that my LAST year of college is just a few months away.

This semester went pretty well, I got pretty good grades.

But I'm really looking forward to next year!!!
*Living off campus in the apartment with Nicole is going to be exciting. It is going to be a new experience that I am very anxious for. I am looking forward to air conditioning when it gets hot, being able to cook my own food and therefore be healthier, showering without flip-flops, living with the best roomie ever!, and all of the other perks that come with living off campus =)
*Work is going to continue to be fun and I got a promotion which means more money which is always a good thing!!
*I am looking forward to all of the lessons that I will continue to learn in practicum. Both semesters this year I walked away with a much greater knowledge than I walked in with and I'm anxious for expanding that knowledge even more.

All in all, I'm sure that next year is going to be a good year!

In the meantime, I'm enjoying summer to the best of my ability. The senior recognition choir concert was last night and BOY was it bittersweet. It was so sad, bordering on depressing because my freshmen are seniors. I kept on reflecting back to my senior year and I can't believe my babies are seniors and are going off into the college world.

It was sweet because I got to see all of my friends...those still in choir at the high school, and of course ALL of the alumni. After going on stage and singing "For Just a Little While" as we all lingered on stage, it was so overwhelming! Seeing everyone...some who I haven't seen in YEARS!!!

And of course I got to see my future husband! Haha, I love Ben!! He is so full of energy it's ridiculous. Him and Erik make me smile/laugh every time I am in their presence.

I'm getting a new car on Saturday!! I can't wait!! Its a 2007 chevy malibou and it's an awesome blue color and I just can't wait!!

Then camp starts on June 11th...how exciting!! I'm so anxious to see all of the campers and of course all of my Summer loves!!

Well, this is it! My last few hours in the dorms...I'm movin over into the apartment later on this afternoon.

So far I've taken all but one of my finals and so far they've gone pretty well. All I have left to do before I'm officially a senior is go return my bassoon(which I will be doing momentarily), take my stats final, and have my conference with my music therapy supervisors.

Then the process of moving will begin. I'm so excited! I can't wait to get out of these icky dorms and into the world of freedom, I can't wait to cook my own meals, and of course I can't wait to live with the amazing Nicole!!

I'm heading home on Friday to start my AMAZING summer!!! I can't wait to hang out with my friends and family, CAMP, and all of the other amazing things this summer will bring(see previous entry)

Oh well, I'm off to return my bassoon, then back here to finish packing and getting ready to move

Where has this year gone?

I sit here and think about it and I have no idea where it went. It really feel like it was just a couple months ago I was moving in at the beginning of the year, and here I am starting to pack up all of my stuff to move out. I can't believe it. I am just 10 days away from being done with finals and therefore becoming a senior...me! a SENIOR in college!! That makes me feel so old!!

Ya know what else makes me feel old? That my "babies"...my freshmen choir from when I was a senior...they're graduating this year. They're going to be in college next year!! And some of them are even gonna be here at ISU and that's just weird!! This year's senior rec concert is gonna be so crazy and I know right now it's gonna be a weird feeling for me. You know what else? My sister is a gonna be a senior in hs...which means she'll be getting ready to come to college. I swear it was just yesterday we were in the same grade school!

Wanna know something else about my sister? She made Forte!! And I'm so proud of her! She's put her heart and soul into that group on crew and she's worked so hard to prove herself and it's all come together. I can't wait to go to all of the competitions next year not just as a groupie but as the sister of a performer!

While I can't believe the end of the year is just around the corner, I am SO excited!! I am moving into Nicole's apartment the Wednesday of finals week! I am so ready to be done with the dorms!! And I can't wait to live with Nicole!!!

I'm also really excited about this summer...because I KNOW that my summer is going to be AMAZING!!! Here are the things I am looking forward to about this summer...

So there you have it...my amazing summer in a nutshell!

And yes, I'm incredibly excited for Summer, but I still can't believe how soon it's gonna be here...

I had to have emergency oral surgery today =(

Earlier in the week one of my wisdom teeth decided to start coming in and it was causing problems in my mouth so my mom got me an appointment for this morning where they said it had to come out. They also said I have to get the rest of em out as soon as I get home from school because apparently those are pretty close to poppin through as well.

I'm in alot of pain right now, but that's ok. Because I was in SOOOO much pain before, and I know that this pain will eventually go away.

The only think I'm worried about is double reeds. I'm right in the beginning/middle of bassoon and I'm supposed to have my playing midterm on monday. I'm not supposed to play for awhile, most likely 7-10 days depending on MY personal recovery time. Well, when we have 4 weeks of class left , if I can't play for 2 of those weeks where will that leave me? I emailed Mr Dicker and he said he's gonna talk to Mrs Dicker and get back to me. So, I dunno...we'll see!

Yeah, so this weekend was so much fun!! It was definitely what I needed after a crazy first week back after break.

It all started on Friday when I went over to Nicole's apartment...aka MY apartment for next year!! We ordered some pizza and then watched a Knight's Tale because I had never seen it...good movie!! I loved it! So we ate our pizza and watched our movie and then sat around talking from about 8-1:30ish when I left. We talked about anything and everything from classes to family to boys(and how aggravating they can be!)to how awesome next year is gonna be! to just about everything under the sun. It was so nice to sit there in the living room and just think that I am gonna be living there in just a lil over a month!!! Then Nicole made us some DELICIOUS chocolate milk!! So then I left and came back to my room and relaxed for a little while before heading to bed.

On Saturday Katie and Jenny and I headed to the mall and lemme tell ya, we did quite a bit of damage!! Thankfully I had giftcards! Cuz I was able to get alot of new clothes!! Jeans and dress pants (2 sizes down now, thank you very much =), some new tops for practicum, and then I bought 2 new pairs of shoes from payless, a cute pair of black flats for work and concerts and practicum and such and then a SUPER cute pair of white shoes!! After the mall, we came and got Meg and we all went to Flat Top for dinner...YUMMM!!! And that was when the craziness began. We laughed, took lots of funny pictures, and then when we were getting ready to go and getting some stuff out of my trunk, Megan decided she wanted to climb into my trunk!! I always say I could fit a dead body in my trunk, and now I have pictures to prove it!! When we got back, Jenny and I had a movie night and watched High School Musical(yeah, we know, we're cool!!), and then I relaxed for awhile.

Yesterday I worked the choir concert. I LOVE getting paid to do my recital attendance!!! Especially when its a concert I was going to go to even if I didn't work and it was a really great concert!! Then I had DO, then homework, and then Lisa and I went to DQ and got some ice cream...fun times!!

And then today the week started and I'm already swamped with work and reading and whatnot...ARG!!

I'm just trying to look on the bright side...WE'RE ALMOST DONE!!!! Before I know it classes will be done and it'll be finals week, then I'll start moving into the apartment!!!, then I'll go home, then CAMP!!!, then my 21st(I'm getting old!), then VEGAS!!!! I can't wait!
