In order to provide more effective customer service, we ask all U.S. Citizens requiring passport, birth registration, or notarial services to make an online appointment before visiting the American Citizen Services Unit.  Our appointment system allows you to plan your visit in advance, ensures shorter wait times, and allows more efficient handling of individual cases.

If you do not see available appointments at your preferred time, please check back for cancellations. Customers requiring immediate attention or emergency service should click here for our contact information.

Please use this link to select a date and time that is convenient for you.  Each person seeking a service related to passports or birth registration should have an individual appointment. For example, members of the same family must schedule separate appointments for each applicant. An applicant requiring a service related to passports and to notaries must schedule two separate appointments, one for each service. This policy is strictly enforced. Be sure to print the confirmation page and bring it with you to your appointment.  It is important to remember that your appointment signifies the time when you should appear at the Embassy’s public entrance for security screening.  Appointment holders who do not appear at the appointed time will be asked to reschedule their appointment for a later date.  There is no charge for making or canceling an appointment. You may cancel your appointment by selecting the link below.

Note: After making your appointment, please return to the American Citizen Services home page so you can prepare for your visit by downloading and completing the necessary forms and collecting the required documentation.

U.S. citizens in Syria who require consular services, including applications for a Consular Report of birth Abroad for children born and residing in Syria, should contact the U.S. Interests Section at the Czech embassy in Damascus; their e-mail address is: USIS_damascus@embassy.mzv.cz.

Note: The American Citizen Services Unit will not be able to respond to queries about immigrant and nonimmigrant visas. For information about visa inquiries please click here: U.S. Visa Information.
