Instead, the U.S. Embassy in Beirut provided funding to local non-governmental organization Tatweer Baladna to create U.S. Cultural Pop-Up Spaces for 600 youth aged 11 to 29 and to 90 teachers from different age groups in different geographical areas across Lebanon including Akkar, Tripoli, Koura, Saida, Aley, Zahle/Bekaa, Hasbaya/Rashaya, Nabatieh/Marjeyoun and Chouf. The U.S. Pop-Up Spaces will empower youth groups, to build resiliency through civic education, acquiring a sense of purpose, transitioning into the future of work and taking action to their future by developing their ideas and shifting their mindset to engage in green and social projects within their schools & communities and to be future social entrepreneurs in Lebanon. While learning about the United States, the U.S. Pop-Up Spaces will inspire youth to initiate change as future social cultural entrepreneurs at first levels in their communities and to use the high tech of the future to serve their communities while improving their socioeconomic status.
Check out the U.S. Pop-Up Spaces on Tatweer Baladnaβs Facebook and Instagram. For assistance from the Embassy, please contact us through BeirutPD@state.gov.
