No access to word

On May 1, 2026 I bought a subscription: Microsoft 365 Basic, order number**:** 4053466473. Since then, I cannot write on a new word document or change an old word document. It says that my subscription has been cancelled and that in order to reactivate, I have to buy a new one- which I did!! how to fix that?

Hello

That's because Microsoft 365 Basic doesn't come with Office apps like Word, Excel, etc. It is strictly for 100GB Onedrive storage only, so your Word app will not work.

YOu will need to use the web version for free in this case via www.office.com > Apps.

Or if you want the desktop version, you need at least Microsoft 365 personal, not basic.

    just last week it worked so why doesn't it now. basic worked for me for the last few years.

      With a Microsoft 365 Basic subscription, you can use the mobile apps and the web apps, but not the full Office suite on a PC or Mac. (You can of course use a Basic subscription in conjunction with a perpetual license such as Office 2021.)
