Please help : Unexpected Charges

Samuel Ko 0 Reputation points

In March 2023, I tried to learn Azure from the basics and use Azure Synapse Analytics to test.  Everything I did was just the setup, I didn't actually use the service (dedicated SQL Pool) at all, just configure the service only.   I deleted most of my works but only 3 of the services remained.  I checked the cost invoice every time and it didn’t show any amount until 11 April 2023.  I received an email that my account has incurred an invoice (G021436604) with £518.18.  I totally had no idea what the charge would be until I checked my invoice details.    Another shocking thing was when I checked my bill (via cost analysis function), I found that my charge had accumulated to  £951.53.  As an unemployed person for almost a year, I try to learn more about Azure and hope to get a job for my living.  As an unemployed person, it was unfeasible for me to pay such a large amount of bills right now.  I haven’t cancelled my Azure subscription yet because I was afraid that all my details had gone.  I would really appreciate it if you could help to resolve this issue for me.  Please let me know if I have to cancel my subscription and what to proceed.  Thank you for your consideration.

@Samuel Ko Thanks for the question and using MS Q&A platform.

This issue looks strange. For a deeper investigation and immediate assistance on this issue, if you have a support plan you may file a support ticket.

I would suggest you to a create a billing support ticket to get more clarity on the pricing which you are looking for.

    • Go to “Help+Support”
    • Under support =>Select + New support request
    • Fill Basic details: Issue type*: Billing
    • Select Problem Type & SubType
    • Provide additional details for communication via email or phone.
    • Review + Create 👁 User's image

Note: Azure provides unlimited support for subscription management, which includes billing, quota adjustments, and account transfers.

Hope this helps. Do let us know if you any further queries.
