In the DTU model, there's no additional charge for backup storage for databases and elastic pools. The price of backup storage is a part of the database or pool price.

Does this mean no additional charge for the default seven days of PIT that comes with creating a new database in the DTU model?
What happens if I increase the PIT backup retention beyond seven days?
What happens if I set up long-term retention?
Do I get charged the same way as vCore and explained here?

That is correct. Your DTU cost covers the PITR storage costs. You can change your retention settings within the PITR options without charge.
However ALL LTR is a separate charge, even for DTU SKUs. All LTR is priced the same.

It is not clear from the documentation. I reached out to the PM, and they are making changes. Thanks for your answer.
