Can Immersive Reader be configured to use a custom top-level domain?

Can Immersive Reader be configured to use a custom top-level domain? Specifically, we have immersive reader successfully configured using the provided "cognitiveservices.azure.com" domain. Some of our customers have issues using the service on our website due to various reasons including firewalls. Is there a method to use our own top-level domain such as "ir-companyname.com"?

Thanks for this answer. One follow up inquiry. If a top level domain cannot be configured, can a custom subdomain be used such as "companyname-ir.cognitiveservices.azure.com"

It appears as if custom subdomains can be configured unless I am not accurately understanding the documentation I linked below. Please advise, thanks.

    Hi Tech ThinkCERCA,

Custom subdomains like companyname-ir.cognitiveservices.azure.com can be configured during Immersive Reader resource setup by specifying a subdomain prefix in the Azure portal. This creates a personalized endpoint while ensuring Azure's security and scalability.

    Thank You.

    Hi Tech ThinkCERCA,

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Forum, thank you for posting your query here!

At present, Immersive Reader in Azure does not support configuring a custom top-level domain such as "ir-companyname.com" because the service is designed to run on Azure's managed infrastructure, which uses the default domain *.cognitiveservices.azure.com. This restriction ensures the service benefits from Azure's security, scalability, and compliance features.

If your customers are facing issues due to firewalls or other network restrictions, the recommended solution is to allowlist the *.cognitiveservices.azure.com domain in their firewall settings. If the workaround does not resolve the issue, reaching out to Microsoft Support may provide additional guidance or custom solutions to address the problem.

Hope this helps. Do let us know if you any further queries.
