Request for Official Font Version Release Database for Academic Research

Hi,

I am an undergraduate student at the University of Winnipeg conducting academic research on PDF forensic dating, supervised by Professor Mary. Our research uses font version numbers embedded in PDF files as forensic signals to determine the earliest possible creation date of a document.

We have been using your official Windows font list pages on Microsoft Learn as primary sources, which have been extremely helpful. However we are wondering if Microsoft has an official database or any other resource that maps font version numbers to their official release dates for all Windows and Office fonts across all versions.

Having access to such a resource would significantly improve the accuracy and coverage of our system and would be properly cited in our publication.

Is there anything like this available, or could you point us in the right direction?

    At the moment, I was not able to find any official documentation that directly maps font version numbers to their corresponding release dates across all Windows and Office fonts.
