Hello @EMMANUEL OLUWAFEMI OMOLE,
Thank you for your message, I understand how frustrating it can be when Word or Excel cannot open properly and prompt you to repair.
To help resolve this issue, could you please try the following steps:
1/When the prompt appears asking you to repair the application, please select “Repair now” and allow the repair process to complete.
Alternatively, you can manually initiate a repair by following this guide: Repair an Office application | Microsoft Support
When prompted, I would recommend selecting Online Repair, as it performs a more thorough fix.
2/ If the issue still persists after that, you may try uninstalling and reinstalling Office completely, then test again to see if the problem is resolved.
For your reference: Uninstall or remove apps and programs in Windows - Microsoft Support3/ If the problem continues, we can try resetting the Office registry configuration. Please follow these steps carefully:
Press Windows + R, type
regedit, and press Enter. Then copy and paste the following path into the address bar:Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0Right‑click on the "16.0" folder and select Rename, then change it to "16.0_old".
After that, please restart your device. Windows will automatically create a new clean registry key for Office. Once restarted, try launching Word or Excel again and check if the issue is resolved.
Please take your time to go through these steps and let me know how it goes, I’ll be happy to assist you further.
Best regards,
