Microsoft 365 Family is considered an "upgrade" so you should be able to use it immediately. Ensure that you are signed in with the correct Microsoft account. Sometimes, signing out, restarting the PC and signing back in may be required for the upgraded license to be recognized.

    Hi,

When you say it will not uninstall, what error message are you getting when you try to uninstall it?

How are you trying to uninstall your Microsoft 365 Personal free subscription?

You may use the Office Uninstall Support Tool (Uninstaller Troubleshooter) to completely remove all Microsoft Office applications from your device and then reinstall Office afterward.

Once you open the link, click Get Help App. When the tool launches, select Yes, then click Next. Choose the option to uninstall Microsoft 365, and then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

To install your new MS365 Family subscription:

    1. Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services
    2. Sign in using the Microsoft account associated with your license
    3. Locate Microsoft Office and click Install
    4. This will download the Office installer
    5. Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions

Once installed, open any Office app such as Word or Excel, then sign in using the Microsoft account associated with the purchase to activate Office.
