Economics of Governance fosters research at many levels of governance, including local and federal governments, international organizations, non-profit organizations, and state-owned corporations.

  • Examines the private provision of public goods, local public policies, credibility and enforcement of international agreements, among others.
  • Presents interdisciplinary contributions from economists, organizational scholars, and political scientists.
  • Uses a variety of approaches to offer new insights, including formal theoretical analysis, systematic observation, simulation, and empirical studies.

    This Special Issue will explore the creation, dissemination, and impact of misinformation, particularly in online and cyber ecosystems. It will examine the role of digital platforms and AI-enabled disinformation, as well as regulatory and policy responses to safeguard information integrity and democratic governance. In addition, it will consider how misinformation shapes public trust, influences political stability, and challenges institutional effectiveness - raising critical questions about governance in an era of digital manipulation.
