A little known fact about Miami is that lurking around the more deco decadent parts and local areas is a group of crafty goddesses that are a force to be reckoned with. They often avoid the light of the day by crafting up a storm and spend the nights reveling in the fruits of their art.
Heather and Mona, the founders of the Miami Craft Mafia set out on a mission to gather these crafty goddesses under one roof. With their vision of unity and delicious group potluck dinners, they staked out the area armed with their glue guns and yarn. Successfully tossing a rather enticing ball of yarn in the direction of these craftsters, they managed to lure them out one by one and into the clutches of the Miami Craft Mafia!
So "what is the Miami Craft Mafia?" we hear you murmur?
The Miami Craft Mafia is group of independent crafty, DIY business owners in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area banding together their resources, expertise and experience. While we all have roots in some form of arts or crafts - we all come from vastly different cultural backgrounds and bring many interesting ideas to the table. We shun conventional crafts and mass consumerism and aim to bring the more unique, edgier side of crafting to the forefront. After all, who wants to have the same item that 100's of thousand other people have?
