Ukrainian Serviceman Rescues Wounded Man During Vacation in Venice

A Ukrainian soldier, known as Captain Dvizhukha on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), bravely rescued a man who had been stabbed while vacationing in Venice, Italy.

He shared the story on his X account.

“20 minutes in Venice. The young man was lucky I was nearby with a first aid kit and tourniquets; by the time the ambulance arrived, he would have already bled out,” he wrote.

In the comments, people asked him what had happened, but the only information the Ukrainian soldier had was that the young man had been stabbed in the thigh.

The Venetian media Corriere Del Veneto has already reported on the rescue by a Ukrainian soldier and provided more details about the incident:

“A young man of North African descent was stabbed in the center of Venice by a peer. The incident took place at 4:37 p.m. on Monday afternoon in Salizada San Canzian near Ponte dei Zogatoli, in the historic center, not far from the Rialto. According to preliminary data, they met at the place where the fight started.”

A few minutes later, a violent quarrel arose, and both allegedly started fighting. It seems that the wounded man was trying to hold the other one, who, as if to escape, pulled out a large knife and began stabbing him in the arm and leg.

At this point, the wounded man let go of the other. The wounded man walked a few meters and fell down near the local restaurant Trattoria Tre Spiedi.

A passerby strolling along happened to be a Ukrainian soldier on leave.

Upon seeing the wounded man, the Ukrainian soldier immediately rushed to his aid, skillfully stopping the bleeding and administering first aid, ultimately saving the man’s life. Witnesses quickly alerted the authorities, and paramedics and police arrived on the scene soon after.

The attacker quickly left, disappearing without a trace.

Medics and local police arrived at the scene. People were also shocked to see many traces of blood on the ground.
