Category:Thematic nav templates

Navigation templates that help readers to navigate to related blocks/items/entities easier, these type of navboxes will not cover education, joke and removed stuff due to not being in current release vanilla.

A thematic nav template covers one cohesive theme of pages. Generally the navbox should be present on every page it links to, creating a web of related blocks that users are likely to be interested in. Thematic nav templates do not cover every possible related block, instead focusing on where readers are likely to navigate to. Generally, a thematic navbox will include every currently implemented in-game block containing the theme word, sometimes with some extremely closely related additional blocks.

For instance:

• Nether wart block is included in {{Navbox crimson}} because it is the clear equivalent to warped wart block.
• Hopper is not included in {{Navbox iron}} because, while made primarily of iron, it does not contain the word "iron" and does not have an obvious equivalent in any other materials.
• Shears are not included in {{Navbox iron}} because they do not have the word "iron" in their name and there is no clear equivalent in other related navboxes (as was the case with nether wart block)

These rules are not set in stone, in all cases what is most important is to do what is most useful for readers.

The standard order for block variants in the same group:

• Full block
• Full block variants (cracked, chiseled, gilded, etc)
• Stairs
• Slab
• Wall/Fence/Fence Gate
• Door
• Trapdoor
• Pressure plate
• Button
• Sign
• Hanging Sign
• Shelf

Due to the limited scope of thematic navboxes, navboxes in this category generally should not be added to Template:Navbox see also or MCW:Quick reference page. This is due to most of the contents of thematic navboxes can also be found in non-thematic navboxes, as well as the large number of thematic navboxes and non-thematic navboxes.
