Rarity indicated how valuable an item was in Minecraft Earth.[1]
There were 5 types of rarity in the game:
Below are the features of the rarity system for each element of the game.
Blocks and items with higher rarity were more difficult to obtain. Such items could be used to craft more useful items. Also, more valuable items took much longer to craft or smelt.
In addition, mobs that were more difficult to obtain had unique, more complex behavior or atypical textures. More valuable mobs dropped more useful items, respectively.
When dropping these items of different rarity from tappables, separate sounds and animations are played for each of them.
Rarity did not affect the size of the buildplates. However, this mechanic affected their content, so more valuable buildplates had more valuable mobs or blocks. More valuable buildplates, respectively, cost more. There were no buildplates with legendary rarity in the game.
Tappable challenges also had their own specific rarity. As a rule, the challenges with higher rarity were more difficult, but the reward was also greater. There were no legendary challenges in the game.
The adventure crystals of a certain rarity activated the corresponding adventures, which also differed in difficulty and rewards. It was planned to add legendary adventures to the game, but later this idea was not implemented.
