Alright, I'm going to spill the beans on a relatively old project of mine.

I wanted to do something like this a while ago, in the form of a lectern. The idea was you'd store a book on the lectern and then anyone can just right click it to read it. I came up with this dude as a working prototype; completely untextured, I was only focused on the general shape and usability before I'd bother with texturing it.

I wanted it to be tall. Taller than 1 block but not as tall as 2 blocks. Eye-height was best. This wasn't really a problem as I could split it into two blocks like doors. But later, I realized; why bother splitting it into two technical blocks when I can do something better? A pillar block and a book stand. It could combine into this general shape when made together, but elsewhere people could then have (marble?) pillars and bookstands on other surfaces. At this point, I scrapped it as I had to move to Sweden and I'd have to rewrite the entire thing anyway.

Here I am in sweden, and I haven't been able to pick it up again yet. Maybe I'll look back into it in two weeks!
