Template:User link

Adds a link to a user page, while by default appearing as the username of the user who owns the target user page. The second parameter can change what text the link appears as.

For temporary users, the template will instead link to the contributions page of the temporary account, since temporary users cannot have a user page. By default, the template will also add the mw-tempuserlink CSS class, which gives the link a grey background; this can be suppressed by using the nobg parameter.

This template will not ping the user if used in a talk page. If you want to ping the user, use the {{Ping}} template instead.
