About Me

[edit | edit source]

I go by Funni_Dot on most platforms, and prefer to use an underscore if possible, however underscores are not an option on the Minecraft Wiki.

I am a new user who plays both Minecraft and Minecraft Dungeons. My top ten non-Minecraft games are: (most favorite to least favorite)

  1. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
  2. Stardew Valley
  3. Block Bros
  4. Gran Turismo 7
  5. Slime Rancher 2
  6. PokΓ©mon Legends: Arceus
  7. Just Shapes and Beats
  8. Unravel 2
  9. Wobbledogs
  10. Nethack

Also, I

creepers! In a game all about making cool things, the

thing that

should

think about is adding something that can

those cool things!

How I Got Here

[edit | edit source]

It's been a long time, so not every detail of the following story may be accurate:

Tablet

[edit | edit source]

The first time I played Minecraft was on an old iPad. I was probably like seven back then so I didn't really know what I was doing, but evidently I had a good time, because here I am. At some point for some reason I don't really remember, I was unable to play Minecraft, and that was that for a while.

A year or two later, when I was nine, I inherited a PS3 from my brother. This had many games, but since I was so young I only got explicit permission to play Minecraft, and maybe a few other physical discs too. And so I played Minecraft once more, this time actually knowing what I was doing, or maybe I'm thinking of my first proper world on my Nintendo Switch (spoiler, womp womp). The PS3 edition was quite outdated even then, but I still kept up with the latest Minecraft updates. Then...

THE INCIDENT

[edit | edit source]

Happened... so basically, my parents decided to set up online play for me. Neither my mom nor my dad are tech savvy, at least when it comes to video games, and I was far too naive, so we didn't know that we needed a subscription, and also that it wouldn't work, at least not for the purpose of letting me play with my friends. While we were there, my dad decided to look around in the parental controls, (as he likes to do when he gets his grubby little hands on one of my devices,) and he found something along the lines of "game restriction level" or something. In hindsight, I think you're supposed to put your age there, but the name was vague and the only indication was that numbers were 4-18. He didn't want to mess with it since he didn't know what it did, so he set it to 4, the lowest possible option. Of course, since this is for age, that means 4 is the most restrictive option, so I wasn't able to play Minecraft anymore. He fixed that problem, but I still wasn't able to play Minecraft, with the console acting as if I didn't own it. So I had dad redownload it, but it wanted him to buy it again, so he found the demo and, none the wiser, downloaded that for me. That means no permanent worlds, (any worlds I already had were lost,) no minigames, just thirty minutes of the tutorial world (or if I was lucky it give me thirty minutes of a normal world instead). I suppose I could technically have still played Minecraft if I wanted to, but I didn't want to anymore. And so, that was that.

Nintendo Switch

[edit | edit source]

And then I got a Nintendo Switch, with Minecraft. And I still do. That's where I am now. But this about how I ended up on the Minecraft Wiki, so we're not done just yet. In the Nintendo Switch version, which was Bedrock Edition by the time I got my hands on it, had an aspect of the game I had never touched before: command blocks. I hadn't in the tablet era because I didn't know of them, and I hadn't in the PS3 era because they were absent there, but now, the world was my oyster (this figure of speech sounds so silly, I don't get it). I studied the art of commands, and soon began making minigames and the like, though big emphasis on "began". I began using DigMinecraft as a resource for things like music track names for the /music command. Whenever I saw a command that interested me in the list of suggestions that appears when you start typing a command, I tried to figure out what it did. But there was this one command, the /execute command, that was very intimidating and had no intention of explaining itself. I ran away from it for a while, but eventually had to confront it. So I checked the DigMinecraft page. But it didn't really explain how to use it. So I had to search it up, and that's how I first met the Minecraft Wiki. Of course, it wasn't love at first sight; for a long time I visited the wiki for the sole purpose of consulting the /execute page. But eventually, I began using it for a bit of Minecraft Dungeons as well, and at some point I saw something I wanted to edit, so I created an account and here I am now.

TLDR; I used the wiki for information on a slightly niche, slightly technical command and then I decided to make an account.

Favorite Articles

[edit | edit source]
  • /execute, as /execute is by far the most useful command I've ever discovered for making cool things, even if a bit intimidating at first.
  • The Tower, since it was the subject of the first ever contribution I've made, and was good practice for editing and using the talk page.

Editing Notes

[edit | edit source]

This section is for writing down how to do things such as using templates and making lists, since there's a lot to remember. If I'm not mistaken, you have to go into source editing to do most of these. You can press the edit button and go into source editing to see exactly how I did these. You may also find the Wikipedia page useful, as it and the Minecraft Wiki use similar software and a lot of things from that apply here.

Bulleted List

[edit | edit source]

Use * at the start of the line:

  • First item
  • Second item
  • Third item

Numbered List

[edit | edit source]

Use # at the start of the line:

  1. One
  2. Two
  3. Three

Make two sets of brackets with a vertical bar as follows: [[|]] On the left side of the bar, put the article name. On the right side of the bar, put the text that will be displayed:

List of Golems in Minecraft Dungeons

Template

[edit | edit source]
Main page: MCW:Templates

The are several different templates, so I will list all of the templates that I have discovered. There is a wiki page for this, but it's far from comprehensive. General knowledge about templates: use {{ }} to mark a template. The first word you put in the curvy brackets is what template you want to use, and everything after that is parameters, separated by a vertical pipe | (ex: try {for|Minecraft Wiki|MCW} with both sets of brackets)
