— Wormbo on IRC, getting his mIRC formatting codes mixed up
I play Minecraft Java Edition since the 1.12 days, focusing mostly on the technical aspects of the game. Once in a while I enjoy a modded play-through, but I'm not a fan of "expert" packs. I'm also a part-time contributor to the Botania mod.
Back when Epic Games was still "Mega", I played and modded the Unreal Tournament series. My name comes from the old 2D Worms games, my avatar on all social media is the character image of the red team version of a Quake 3 Arena player model of a Worms worm. My Minecraft skin is that of a Worms worm with a red headband in a pillager outfit. (And since I recently got asked multiple times whether my name is a reference to something called "Some More News" – not at all. I had to look up what that even is, and found that anyone asking that may need to get their spellings straight.)
(in an eternal state of perpetual "I'll probably get to it, eventually. Hopefully. Maybe?")
- Elaborate hopper usage and relation to hopper minecart
- Hopper lines, and hoppers pulling from/pushing into other hoppers
- Mention use in furnace automation (or item splitting in general)
- Mention storage silos
- Split off all item sorting/filtering into separate tutorial page (maybe just un-redirect Tutorials/Item sorting)
- Single-item filtering
- Introduce "impulseSV filter" as the basic filter for hopper lines
- Show how item filters work with water streams
- Mention double-speed filters (especially their downsides, because faster is not always better)
- Mention AB-tiling of SS2 filters, and why SS2 filters should be used this way
- Unstackable sorting
- Generic filter to grab unstackable items from a hopper line
- Distinguishing unstackable items from each other (simple/practical filters for books, potions, shulker boxes, music discs; point out ways to sort armor, buckets, minecarts, etc.)
- Mention allays, and why they are typically not used for this
- Multi-item sorting
- Pros and cons of MIS (more compact, but also more complex, breaks when unloaded while active)
- Reference for various MIS approaches ("Moony MIS", categorizers, Cart MIS)
- Mention chest/hopper minecart loading/unloading (linking Tutorials/Storage minecarts)
- Mention shulker box loading/unloading (probably deserves a tutorial page of its own)
- Mention use in clocks, pulse extenders, counters and similar redstone contraptions (with appropriate links)
