Re: Fake mobs

[edit source]
  • Sheep on SMP sometimes cannot be sheared or attacked, and clicking on them can activate objects behind them, as if they didn't exist.
    • This bug also randomly occurs with mobs and other player entities. For example in PvP, sometimes you will hit right through a player as if they weren't there.

Since when that bug exist ? It never happened to me and many other players before 1.2.

So it must has been fixed since a long time, and just returned with 1.2.

Okay, so I think there's a difference in 1.2 : now we are hitting the block/thing that is behind the mob, so in creative mode, it will also destroy it (which is really annoying). That never happenned before, you see ? We were just hitting an invincible mob, and not hitting things behind it. That's why me and other people are reporting it as a new important bug. Gimlao

These are not fake mobs, so this is not the same issue. These are sheep that have been penned up, dyed and sheared previously. Prior to this version there were no issues regardless of how often the server was saved and re-started. As of 1.2.3, when logging back in several (not all) of the sheep cannot be interacted with. After awhile they become interactive again. They never disappear. This is a completely new bug and should be documented as such. WaxxyOne

Dinnerbone marked it as fixed now. Gimlao
